Khintla Village

Khintla is a small village with a population of around 2,950 in 425 households. An improved water supply has led to the subsequent problem of drainage, since the village does not not have drainage and sewerage systems in place.

The village is a mixture of castes with the main being Koli, Kathi Darbar, Rabari, Harijan and Devipujak. The principal occupations of the villagers are agriculture, animal husbandry and agriculture labour.

Khintla has two primary schools and a secondary school which house around 570 children. The village's literacy rate is approximately 60%.

The community doesn't have its own primary health centre or market but use a nearby village located 20 kms away. The community has shown team work and is headed by a pro-active 'Sarpanch' (headman). The village also has a strong woman's association which drives health related issues.
